Seesaw Review

    Seesaw is a digital portfolio creation tool. This tool, which can run on Windows, IOS and Android platforms has an interface that is very easy for students to use. Thus, students can enrich their electronic portfolios by adding photos, videos. drawings, texts and links. Electronicportfolios that support students' learning can be accessed by both students, teachers and parents thanks to the seesaw tool. This is one of the greatest strengths of the seesaw tool because teachers give instant feedback on student work, while parents get the chance to follow students' work done at school. Now let's take a look at these 3 different platforms; 

* Student Platform: Students log in to the classroom by using the QR code given to them or by their e-mail account opened by their teacher or school. For this, first "I am a studen" is selected and then the class is entered. Students entering the class can take photos and videos for their portfolios, save their drawings as well as add their work and written notes to the library.
    Seesaw's camera waits fpr the camera to remain still in order to capture a clear image. For this reason, the seesaw application is also easy to use by younger students. In addition, students can record sound, deaw and write on the photograph. Then the student chooses his name from the class list and adds his work to his portfolio. In addition, he can organize the works he added by saving them in different folders. 

* Teacher Portfolio: As for the teachers, they can log in to the seesaw application with the "I am a teacher" option. If logging in for the first time, the class creation process is performed. for the younger age group, via the "Email Account" can be selected. 
    They can get the required code to invite students to the class with the "Get class code" or "Get QR code" option.
    Teachers can change the properties of the class with the "Manage Classroom" option. In addition, more than one teacher can be assigned to the same class by adding different teacher with the manage teachers option in this section.
    Teachers on the other hand, can follow the added work from the whole class view or by selecting a single student and can make audio or written comments. Seesaw ensures that all work is organized on a single platform in an orderly manner. The teacher's approval is sufficient for the added work to be seen in the student portfolio. Teachers can view portfolios in Seesaw from different platforms. It can be accessed through applications on mobile devices or on the web.

* Parent Portfolio: When teachers approve a student's work, parents will be notified with an automatic message and will be able to view the student's work. A completely safe environment is provided as parents can only see their own student's work.

IUC - UMA Collaboration (Valiant Project)

    First of all, I have to say that the collaboration with the Spanish students has been a wonderous experience for me. Let alone being able to create something new with people I didn't know prior to the project, it also helped me get to know new ethnicities and expand my knowledge about them.     The project started off with participants getting to know each other. In our case there was Audrey from France, Maria from Spain and us 3 friends from Turkey; Soner, Yakub and finally me, Görkem. The first meeting went very well where we first introduced ourselves to each other and asked questions to each other to really understand each other.      In the second meeting we were tasked with writing a text that described our language learning journey and the hardships that we went through as well as preparing questions about our friends's texts after reading them. Im guessing that this task's purpose was to let us learn more about each other as well as getting to know different edu

Edpuzzle Review

      Edpuzzle is a tool used to edit videos and turn them into interactive teaching materials. To give more in-depth information about Edpuzzle, It is a free and usefull virtual clasroom apllication where you can edit videos, narrate them with your own voice, add voice notes, ask questions to your students and evaluate their answers and see if the material has been viewed by the students.      You can add videos to Edpuzzle through the local files of your device or simply find them through sources that are presented to you in the system such as "YouTube", "Khan Academy", "Ted", "Learn Zillion" etc. Creation of new videos by teachers and students is also possible. They can create their own material and share it to be viewed by everyone!
