IUC - UMA Collaboration (Valiant Project)

    First of all, I have to say that the collaboration with the Spanish students has been a wonderous experience for me. Let alone being able to create something new with people I didn't know prior to the project, it also helped me get to know new ethnicities and expand my knowledge about them.
    The project started off with participants getting to know each other. In our case there was Audrey from France, Maria from Spain and us 3 friends from Turkey; Soner, Yakub and finally me, Görkem. The first meeting went very well where we first introduced ourselves to each other and asked questions to each other to really understand each other. 
    In the second meeting we were tasked with writing a text that described our language learning journey and the hardships that we went through as well as preparing questions about our friends's texts after reading them. Im guessing that this task's purpose was to let us learn more about each other as well as getting to know different education systems from other countries. 
    The next step was to start creating the teaching material that we were going to work on. For its subject, we chose from our own experiences, where we had problems going forward and used those to create the material that would benefit the learner the most. Then we decided on which web 2.0 tool to use for creating this material, which was Pixton. 
    After deciding on Pixton to create our teaching material, we searched online about similar materials to have an idea as to what kind of work we would be doing. 
    The next week's assignment was to finally creating the material by sharing responsibilities and creating something collaboratively. We had the help of Maria and Audrey for writing the context. Afrer that was done, Yakub was tasked with creating the sceneries and backgrounds for our 20+ pages visual book. After Yakub's part was done, Soner created custom character models to give life to the characters in Maria and Audrey's text. And finally i was tasked with creating speech bubbles and assigning them to the designated characters. 
    After all of this was done, we had our last meeting for the purpose of giving feedback to each other and evaluate our work. And that was it, our journey with our over abroad friends!
